Adding Lyrics to a Music Video

Hello, I'm using Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 17. I have a video of me playing a song on the piano and want to add the words as text as I'm playing the song. I can do it, but every time I add a new text box for the next matching lyrics (lyrics matching the music), it always defaults back to Verdana size 48 and I have to change everything again and again. How can I select the font and size that I want for each text box throughout the song? Thank you so much for your help.

Copy and paste then change the type. That is the easiest way I have found.

Thank you for such a fast response! I've tried that but am getting weird things happening. First, there are two past options: "Create a new copy of the source media" or "Create a reference to the original media". When I choose the first one, and type the second set of words, it puts those words in the first text box and moves the first text I typed to the second one. When I choose the second paste option (create a reference) it changes the first text box to the new words I just typed so now they're both the same. I know I must be doing something wrong but haven't been able to figure it out. Any thoughts?

You want to create a new copy. The easiest way is to hold CTRL down left click and drag the copy to where you want it on the timeline. Then, and this is important, select the GENERATED MEDIA icon in the COPIED version and start typing. If you don't you will change the original, as you have discovered.

Spoke too soon. Just entered all the lyrics like you said and the second set is repeating all the way to the end. :(

did you select "create a new copy" each time you copied. (it should default after the first time)

I might not have - might have missed one which could throw it off? I also found this out: When I put the cursor over the text event they all look the same but when I look at the video preview they are correct. Thank you so much for your help. I got it done this time. Stay safe and well!
