Adding mutiple files to timeline gets out of order

When I add multiple files to timeline it mixes up the order on the timeline. The file names are in numerical order and are in time and date order as well (Imported from a Song handycam. I've tried importing using Sony picture studio and also cutting and pasting directly from the camera to a local hard disk.

Any ideas please.

p.s. will try rendering fix as I have problems there as well. I'm using movie studio platinum 9.0 is 10 less buggy I'm happy to upgrade if it's better even though I only edit SD videos

Thanks

OK I've found the cause! If I select multiple files but "drag" them by say the middle of the bunch it mixes the order. If I drag them by the first highlighted file it keeps them in order. simples!

Now to fix the crashing!

It's a "windows" thing. The file you actually drag will be the FIRST file you get. The rest of the files should then follow in order. It should not be random at all.
