adding sequential events to timeline...

Here's a question I've been meaning to ask for years... Let's say I have a group of sequential events/objects that I want to add to my timeline from the explorer window of Vegas 8c. The events are numbered event1, event2, etc. When I select and add multiple events in this way to the timeline, the LAST object, e.g., event12, appears FIRST on the timeline, and then event1, event2, etc follow. Why is that and more importantly, how do I make it stop?

You need to renumber the events so that they all have the same number of digits according to the number of events.
In your case, that would be event01, event02, etc.
This assumes that you have 99 or less events.
If it was over 100, the numbering would be event001, event002, etc.
BTW, blame Windows for this, not Vegas.

That's strange -event12 should have appeared inbetween event1 and event2, if they are sorted by event name.

Anyway, the way to do it will be to name the events as event01, event02, ..., event10, event11, ..., event99. If there are more than 99 but less than 1000 events, then name them event001, event002, ..., event999.

Edit: Oops! The question has been answered. We must have been typing at the same time.

Very easy. The last item clicked is the one that is added first. So, click on event12 first, then shift click on event1, then drag event 1 to the timeline. Voila.

Ah! We have a weiner! Thank you so much. Mystery solved. (Sometimes it's the simple things...)

Most welcome.

Note that this isn't even a Vegas issue. It's common to any software built on the Windows Explorer model for file access.

Yeah I did notice that. Wasn't blaming Vegas :-)
