hi guys,
does anyone know how to add text to a track and that text is right to left language (Hebro, Asian or arabic...) because i tried arabic and it was jerky text (splitted charachters)
system is xp pro and of course the RTL languages are installed on it
vegas 4.0d
I'll really take a chance here but did you try to type your text in XP (let's say : notepad or Word) then copy-paste it in the text generator in Vegas?
I copy-pasted some text not so long ago and it worked but it was left to right text...
If you're really in a bind with this you could do it in say Photoshop on a transparent background and bring that in. Assumin of course you don't have a lot of it to do.
Some of the Arabic languages are a typsetters nightmare, not just the right to left but also the way the characters have to join together,
I type Chinese in Vegas all the time. Not a problem at all. Maybe you need to change the "Advance" setting in "Regional and language setting" under control panel. Select the language you are going to use in the "Language for non-unicode programs" option and click on "OK".
I type Hebrew into Vegas all the time; it's no problem. You have to make the Language settings changes, as described above. Be aware that although you can input right to left letters, they appear as left-to-right; i.e. in reverse order. So you have to type them in last letter first and so on.
thank you all
i think the best idea which i also got to it, is to use photoshop with alpha channel, because the regiopnal settings is ok "the non-unicode language thing", and i tried to copy and paste from another app.
the funny thing is when i'm typing arabic in text control box it is perfect "right to left and everything" but it is corrupted in the preview window...!!!!!
it made me beleive the vegas can do it correctly with simple procedure or something
I did ask something along these lines before, actually about Chinese which I've since done successfully, but there was a post saying that between Vegas 3 and 4 something got a bit screwed up with the Unicode, maybe it was just in scrollong text.
