Adding timecode in the timeline

I'm doing a documentary for a university. I've shot about 10 hours of raw footage. The footage was shot on mini dv format. My plan is to render out the footage on 5 DVD's. I'm working on this project with several other people. I need to have time code overlayed on the raw footage to facilitate the final edit. My question is this: Is it possible to capture the footage in Vegas, add it to the timeline, and overlay a running time code (clock) on a separate track that will show throughout the playback of the footage when I render it out to DVD.

Thanks.

With Vegas 7 or 8 (not Movie Studio as it doesn't support scripting), run the "Add Timecode to all Media" script.

you did not mention what version of vegas you have I will asume that is is the pro version (being) that you areon this forum while you can use a script for it you can also goto video effects and add the timecode FX there you can make several ajustments to it and when you are ready for the final version just turn that effect off. also this effect works in Vegas movie studio platinum as well.

Good luck with this ( i use this effect all the time with my movie restoration work)
