Adding very simple animation

I need to be able to add a simple animation to a "real-life" short that I am making. Say, i just need a hot dog with two eyes and a mouth talking to a real person.
I have Flash and have been using it, but it seems when I export, even with uncompressed AVI, I get jaggies on all the edges and it does not look like it does on the Flash stage.
Should I be using a different program for animation or does anyone have any experience they could offer up? Thanks.

Maybe you're exporting to a smaller resolution than the finished video. Vegas would then have to magnify the animation and that will make the pixels more obvious. You should try to match the finished video's frame size as closely as possible. If you're working with NTSC then output the flash videos at 655x480.

Also, if you're rendering to DV, be aware that DV compression lowers the color resolution, especially red. Any high contrast red edges will develop nasty jaggies. DV is intended for more real-life colors that are generally low insaturation and blend gently into each other. If you have some high-contrast red in your animation you might want to consider toning it down.

You might also try saving the file as a flash 4 swf and then dropping it on the timeline in Vegas. Depends on what you've got going in the animation.

I don't shrink the video at all, just as is. I will try dropping the flash video file on, though. Thanks.

I had a similar problem. Things seemed to smooth out once I exported from Flash as a Quicktime (.mov) movie. Don't know if this is the best fix, but it worked for me. Just my two cents.
