Adding video only to Timline

Occasionally I want to insert a video clip into a section; maybe a shot of a the crowd during a live performance to cover some bad videography.

What I currently do is place the clip with the audio at the end of the current edit, ungroup, delete the audio (5.1 in this case) then move the clip to the section I need it.

Is there a quicker way of doing this in Vegas 10 so I can just drag the clip to where I require it without the audio tagging along?

Cheers.

Hi Maverick, try this:

Use the right mouse button to drag the file(s) to the timeline. When you release the mouse button, a context menu will appear. Select Video only > Add video across time.

Cool stuff, thanks for that.

Use the trimmer. Select video only, highlight the required selection and drag and drop where needed.

One of the reasons I use the trimmer is that it's so quick to do this. Use the 'tab' button to cycle through the options for video, audio, both.
