I don't think there any, anywhere. Pretty sad comment on the support for the product. Not even any for purchase, as far as I know.

my thoughts exactly

I'm still convinced that some themes that were on the Sony site have been removed. For example I'm sure that there used to be two wedding themes and that there was a vacation theme.

I'm not at my usual edit PC, so I can't check my themes folder.

If this has happened it's an even sadder comment on support (or lack of).

I'm now sitting at my PC and I have some 35 themes installed yet there are currently only 19 available on the Sony downloads page.

I wonder if some were originally contributed by users and have since been removed?

Not only are there no themes available anywhere but no tutorials or anything either!
There are tons of free Veg files and tutorials for doing stuff with Vegas but nothing but empty silence regarding DVDA. I have seen the pixel pops and various stuff for Encore but zilch in the way of 3rd party stuff for DVDA. The only thing I have seen is the new Keith Kolbo DVD from VASST. That looks great but why has it taken this long to get anything out on DVDA? I guess I have been spoiled by all the free scripts and veggies that I expect the same kinda thing for DVDA .

Really unfortunate as it seems most of the other authoring products has a SLEW of themes a lot of which even includes music for them. We don't even get/have a nice Christmas type theme.

I guess that is why so many people get Vegas and use another program for authoring their dvd's. Just a few improvements like more themes would help get a lot more sales on that product. Hopefully that will happen w/ the next upgrade.

Hm, I guess that leads to the obvious question of:

'What other...... '

No, don't even go there!

I think it's so interesting trying to make your own themes. I do my ones and I have a goood time!

Really? How many people are doing that? Why would they give up the ability to specify chapter points in Vegas and have them automatically transferred to DVD Architect just because of some silly themes?

I guess if you are making home movies perhaps themes are important but I do custom DVD menus using content from the current project for every single DVD I make. I have never used a built-in theme and never would. I can’t see how this would affect anyone’s decision to purchase the project.

Gotta agree with JohnnyRoy here. I looked at the themes that were available, tried a few, and chucked them all. They were more limiting than helpful. I start each DVD from scratch and build something appropriate to the material on the disc.

I agree with JR. I have always created my own menus. It takes a while to 'think' in DVDA properties but what you can do is amazing. For example, here is a link to a thread for creating a panoramic menu in DVDA. http://www.dmnforums.com/cgi-bin/displaywwugpost.fcgi?forum=sonic-foundry_vegas&post=050627012424.htm

The Dobly Digital 5.1 support alone is worth the cost of DVDA3.

This is an excellent thread on buttons & masks.

Yea, I like that idea of the panorama. I show you how to do menu transitions in the DVD Architect section of the VASST Absolute Training for Vegas+DVD, Vol. 1-3. I use a page flip but the idea is the same. You can really do some amazing stuff if you plan it out right.

I meant no disrespect to the home movie crowd. I do lots of home movies myself. I just make custom menus for everything I do. If you have DVD Architect 3 you can save anything you do as a theme so they are not as mystical to make as they once were when you had to edit XML. I guess there is a need for more themes for this section of the community.

I too was a little disappointed at the scarcity of themes, and was copying backgrounds and button arrangements from some other authoring programs just to get design ideas.

Then an actor friend asked me to assemble a reel for him, and said "Can you make a menu thumbnail from each of my clips, and then when you click on it, make it zoom to full screen size and start the clip playing?"

To my amazement, in about two hours using Vegas and DVDA I had created exactly what he wanted.

jAnd today, George Clooney is famous. Just kidding, but I became a big believer in how DVDA3 helps realize the vision thing.
