Hi Marco,

You might try holding your mouse at the middle and top of the audio event in the timeline... You should then be able to drag down on the top and bring the level of the entire event to your desired level. (Make the track taller for more accurate control.)

No, not really. Envelopes are for creating curves. But what I was looking for was a quick method to change the whole clip level without any curves.
It's right what Martyh posted in the mail before.

I'm so new to this. Learning something every day. I was inserting an audio envelope, not adding any points to the line (so I wouldn't get a curve) & dragging the line down or up dpending on wether I wanted a decrease/increase.

The event-based settings (we call them ASR -- attack, sustain, release) envelopes are a super quick way of lowering the volume for a single event. Just drag the top center edge down. On video events, this adjusts the clips opacity.

Envelopes are better for adjustments over time, or across clips.
