Adjusting opacity levels during clips

Is it possible to keyframe adjust opacity of a clip throughout the lenth of a clip?
If so, what is the simplest method.
In other words I want a clip to change its opacity while it is playing.
Sorry for the dumb question. Imust be right in fron of me.
