Adjusting render bitrate on XAVC-S

I recently bought a GoPro 4 Black. The UHDTV video is shoots plays from a USB stick on my Samsung 4k TV - very nice it is too.

However if I edit the file in Vegas 13 and export it, the TV struggles to play it, jumping forward seconds at a time. I believe this is down to the excessive bitrate that seems baked into the XAVC-S. I don't think its a limitation of the USB speed as it happens also when I network play it also.

This means I can't play edited GoPro footage on my TV which is a shame.

Is there a way round this ? The best I have found so far is the 1080 long gop (what ever that is) which does give remarkable quality.

It's probably not the bitrate. It's something else.
But 2k will be a lot more playable.

Just saying.
