Adjusting the volume of one clip?

I am a newbie with SONY Vegas Movie Studio v. 4.0. One of my video clips, imported from my camcorder, has a loud wind sound. I would like to decrease the volume of the sound in just that clip in Movie Studio order to decrease the sound of the wind. ( I do not have an audio editor that can edit .avi files - clips.) In Movie Studio, I couldn't figure out how to do decrease the volume of just one video clip without changing the volume of the whole audio track which includes other .avi clips - and I don't want to alter the volume of those other clips. I alos tried the following: I put the clip in Windows Movie Maker and I could alter the volume of the clip in that program. However, Windows Movie Maker does not appear to save the changes in volume of a clip (perhaps only saves the volume changes in its project file), because after saving the project in Movie Maker and then playing that altered clip in Movie Studio, the volume of the sound was not reduced.
Is there any way of altering the volume of just one clip in Movie Studio? If so, how? As a newbie to the program, a brief walkthrough would help if you are willing.
Thanks.
Richard

Movie Maker, or any other non-destructive editor (including Vegas) will never alter the clip. You must render to a new file and then use that new file in order to get the change.

Or, vastly simpler and easier, hover your mouse pointer along the top edge of the audio event of that clip and you'll see it change to a hand with one pointing finger. Drag down and a blue line will appear. The farther you drag that line down the lower the volume will be. If you want to adjust just parts of a single event you can split it into multiple pieces and adjust each individually.

Also, look up Volume Envelopes in the help screens, if Vegas Studio has them.
