Insert a Volume envelope on the audio track. A thin blue line will appear through the center of the track. Double-click on the line where you want the volume to change and this will add a node to the line. Double-click again to add another node after the first. You can then drag the second node up or down to change the volume. You can also slide the nodes left or right to adjust the timing. Add as many nodes as you need.

See, I knew it would be something simple. I had gotten to the envelope step, but hadn't thought of double clicking. Worked just as I wanted. Thanks!

You can also use the right-click menu to work with envelope points. Right-click on the line and you'll be able to add a point, among other things; right-click on a point and you'll be able to control its parameters.
