ADS Pyro capture problems

Hey all,

Ran a search but didn't find what I was looking for. I've got aVCR plugged in to the front of the Pyro unit and 6-pin firewire out the back to my computer. When I open Video Capture, the tape name prompt comes up, so VC knows something is out there, but when I hit Play, nothing happens - just a balck screen. Oddly enough, the video isn't getting through to the RCA outs for monitoring, either. Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated.

You need to disable Device Control in VidCap.

also need to look in the instructions & setup the dip switches & make sure the button on the font has the correct source selected.

Checked the switches. Enabling device control was half the problem - now I can at least go through my camera. But the signal is still not getting through the Pyro. (I'm asuming that the analog out should be working independent of the 1394.) Maybe the signal to the analog in isn't strong enough or something...

I've been blessed by not having to do much analog capture in the past. Thanks again for the input.

i just remembered: device control only matter if you're "stopped." If you're in "play" or "pause" mode it's no problem.

are you sure you hooked the VCR OUT to the Pyro IN? Sure it's not a problem with that VCR?

If you have to press the analog button on the ADS turning the blue light to red, so as to capture analog footage.
