ADVC-100

I have just hooked up my ADVC100, and experimented with a few things. At first I could not external preview (on an old 16" TV) transistions thru it, or JPG's etc on the timeline. Then I increased the dynamic RAM allocation to 630 (639 available, I have 768 DDR installed), and I can now preview transistions etc. So..., does haveing any more RAM help, like if I go to 1Gig??, does the recompress option help, and are these things normal for this unit?

Short story is that RAM Preview will cache the rendered frames, but the DV codec still has to compress them on the fly for external monitor playback, so yes, more RAM will help, but the CPU speed will determine the fastest rate the frames can playback without doing a pre-render.
