Advice on using 24, 30 and 200 frames per sec

Hi all,

I will be using uncompressed big AVI files shot at 1080p.

It is for a 3 min video.

I hear about movie style 24 frames per second: Does Vegas Movie studio HD support that? Or is it going to play back at 30 frames per second?

I'm new to video production, what settings when I create my project, or will Sony adjust to the types of video I import?

End result will be for blu-ray.

I'm not sure there's any value whatsoever in shooting in uncompressed, hi-def AVI, fyn. In fact, assuming you're editing on a home computer, I can think of lots of disadvantages.

Namely that not only are you going to struggle continually with getting any editing program to recognize your video, but your computer is likely going to slow to a crawl or maybe even choke and die trying.

And all of that for no noticeable improvement in quality whatsoever!

What model of camcorder are you shooting with? There is likely a much more efficient format to work with.

Always edit the way the video was shot. If you're shooting family/travel stuff, stick to 30p or 60i. Shoot 24p only if you're making an actual short movie, official music video, or art video. No reason for uncompressed either. Follow the instructions here: http://eugenia.queru.com/2007/11/09/exporting-with-vegas-for-vimeo-hd/
