AE output better than Vegas?

I am working on a project that requires a video wall of 100 clips shrunk down to fill the screen (10 high and 10 across). I first made it in Vegas using the 3dLE plugin and the video quality was not very good. It became very interlaced with noticable artifacts. I tried reduce interlace, resample and supersample. Then I switched to AE and did the same project with 0.3 deinterlaced applied the video video looks great (no artifacting).

Normally Vegas never gives me problems on output (in fact it's usually soooooo much better than most other programs) but this seems to be weak area. Unless I did something wrong?

StormMarc,

can you e-mail me the Veg file for the wall? I'd like to take a look at it. I've really had good luck working with reduced video clips... can't say I've had that many up at once... I'd like to take a peek at it.

How does it look if you use Track Motion instead of 3DLE?

I had the same problem, you have to disable resample on that track. I had the problem with a very large photoshop pic I had when I would zoom in and pan it looked horrible until I disabled resample completley. Right click your track then mouse over to switches and disable resample. It may still look wrong on a preview but when you output the final video it works great.

I did not try the track motion. It takes long to build so next time I'll try that route. Heeyyyyy... that would be a cool Excalibur feature. You click all the clips that you want to be fit on the screen as a pic-n-pic and excalibur sets it up for you. (I can dream can't I ?)

Thanks,

Shogo,

I'll render again without resample and see how that looks. What about supersample?

Thanks,

Marc
