As an audio person, I do not export much and had trouble importing AAF from other apps, so I abandoned using AAF altogether. Vegas never did support OMF, I use a third-party converter like AATranslator and convert OMF and other formats to <.veg> or <,xml> which works good most of the time> if all else fails I ask for the individual audio tracks and a video with a reference mix or split track mix to confirm sync.

Recently I had an offline edit for online web commercial. The edit was not done in VEGAS as they request the cut to be done either Pr or Resolve. I opted Resolve cuz it's the 2nd easiest software after VEGAS imo.
The Audio House request AFF & OMF for them to start working on mixing/sound design. However, Resolve has short coming to not able to export OMF file which is pretty shocking for me. While the AFF exported out from Resolve doesn't seem to be working cuz it does not consolidate the audio files like Pr.
I had to borrow someone else adobe Pr software to import XML from resolve and export out again as AFF & OMF as requested by the Audio House.
From my knowledge, VEGAS Pro since "Sony Vegas" era is not able to export XML properly (Or does not work at all) and I don't recall the program have option to export AFF or OMF from VEGAS.
This make me wonder if VEGAS Pro are actually meet the industry standards.
The AATranslator seems a useful tool for Audio House. Will it work for VEGAS/Resolve/Pr to send out a proper file for Audio person?
