I loaded an event on the timeline, added Smart Mask 2 to the event, analyzed, and selected something to be masked. I then moved it before Pan/Crop in the chain and did not get a crash.

@iEmby VP 22 is rock steady, but it obviously can still crash or hang. I had Smart mask 2.0 occasionally hang or crash, and occationally Boris FX's PI (particle illusion). The more complex and resource hungry the plugin, the bigger chance of a crash I would say. I would not worry to much as it is usually not reproducible, but I suppose in your case it is reproducible as made a recording of it...
One piece of advice, I always save first, before attempting any AI based or other complex plugins...

@iEmby Something you could try is install the free HWiNFO64 and monitor if your processor does not thermally throttle while using Vegas. I have improved my Vegas stability significantly by avoiding thermal throttling by any means possible (better cooling or if needed disabling hyperthreading, disabling XMP, CPU power limits in BIOS)

I can reproduce this in that every time I use AI Smart Mask 2.0 in the current release of Vegas Pro 22, it crashes.
Recycling my own electrons from the other thread about AI Smart Mask 2.0 crashes:
"Smart Mask 2.0 is crashing on me as well in Vegas Pro 22 (248). Auto-analyze just flickers incessantly. Disabling it and manually analyzing causes an almost instantaneous crash... and that's with or without the GPU (in my case an NVIDIA RTX 3090, Game Ready Driver 576.28) selected as the Decoder in File I/O settings."
