Aiptek Action HD QuickTime 720p Crashes

I have the latest version of Quicktime installed.

I have applied all Sony patches.

Yet, when I attempt to import Quicktime .MOV clips recorded by an Aiptek Action HD 720p camcorder, the Sony Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 8 crashes.

I can work around the problem by copying and renaming the files and giving them an ".MP4" extension.

However, I would prefer to not have to do that extra step.

Does anybody know if Sony is aware of this issue?

Does anybody know if Sony plans to fix it in this release or have they already released all of the patches planned for this version?

Until this happened, I was starting to enjoy this program.

Thanks,

Private Idaho

I forgot to mention that even when I can import the clips, only the video imports properly. There's no audio!

Known problem. Some Aiptek models (and some from Kodak's mpeg4 digicams) crash vegas. You will have to buy another editor if you want to use Aiptek I am afraid. Or, ask Sony to add support for these.
