All 24fps media doesn't import correctly. help

Hi, i've tried this with several files shot on the gh4 at 1080p & 4k, NTSC 60hz & Cinimatic 24hz system frequency. All clips I import that are 24fps get imported with the video stretched way out past the clip length. So if I import a 30 second clip, the audio will be 30 seconds but the video will be about 2 minutes and 45 seconds. This happens in the vegas pro trial too, and in premiere elements 13 but not the premiere pro CC trial. The video in the clips only play like normal with the audio but the video extends way past the end of the clip on the timeline, if you try to play the video where the audio part has stopped it doesn't do anything. Is this a known bug? How can I get the 24fps clips to import correctly? Thank you. 30fps clips import correctly. And in both cases the project settings are set to the corresponding frame rates in the project properties box.

Please open samples of each of your video and audio clips in either G Spot or Media Info and note the resolution, frame rate and, above all, the audio and video codecs that are listed.

Unsupported audio and video codecs can certainly cause the problems you're describing.

Also, can you confirm you're using Movie Studio 13? Prior versions may not fully support 4K video. Especially if it's a format other than XAVC-S.

I'm using movie studio platinum 13 from the movie studio 13 suite. Actually it's from the sony creative site cause I'm using the latests build, just installed within the last week.

Here's media info's description of a 4k 24fps clip that is not importing correctly.

This is apparently a known issue.
There is a lengthy discussion and some workarounds discussed here:

Alternatively, it appears that Catalyst Browse (a free download) can read these files and transcode them into something usable.
