Hello,
I've been lurking in this forum for a few days now and have found many answers to technical questions ... some I didn't even know I had. I've also found links to Vegas resources that I never knew existed. I think this is an excellent forum and I'm glad I joined. Kudos to Sony and the phone support person who referred me to the site last week.
I'm pretty much an amateur video enthusiast who's been playing around since my father bought one of the first consumer beta cameras in 1984. I started out with an Amiga 500 and jumped to a 4000 with a Personal Animation Recorder, TBC and Genlock. Those were the days! I had a 20 meg hard drive and could record a something like a minute of video at a shot - editing was strictly a manual affair using my Sony SLV-R5 (still works fine). Those were the days. I even tried my hand at wedding and event video but found I was too obsessive about the final product to ever make any money at it. For some reason folks didn't want to see brides morphing into grooms.
I'm using a AMD 4800+ X2 dual core system now with 660 gigs of storage and a full suite of Sony/Sound Forge products along with Corel's Photopaint. I'm a bit behind the curve with a hand-me-down mini DV camera but starting to look real hard at the Sony HVR-Z1U HDV ... be still my heart... Believe it or not I find most of my video projects are shot with my Nikon D70 still camera and transformed into art with Vegas and a little help from Still Motion.
Enough about me, it's really all about the expensive toys and the images we leave behind. To that end, allow me to share a few of my creations as thanks for allowing me to be a part of this fine group:

Comments are always welcome! I'm not sure how much bandwidth this will cost me on my meager monthly ISP quota, but I'll try to keep the link fresh with some more stuff if I can.
