alpha channels-ACTION BACKS

i just perchased software called Action Backs which is similar to Juicer made by Digital Juice. I'm having problems getting my alpha channels removed so i can see my image come through the areas they need to come throuhg. I downloaded the software, so it came with 2 files for each image. 1. the source file and 2. the matt file. supposedly, they are supposed to be linked with a child layer and adjusted with different parameters, but i am not having luck. Is anyone familiar with this method for the "Action Backs" software?
thank you.

It might be:

Have two layers.

Top layer: Matte goes here. Aoply the mask generator filter. Set it to luminance or alpha... depends where the alpha channel is.
Set multiply composite mode:

Bottom layer: Make this a child of the upper layer. Put the Action Back here.

This is the general approach to do masking in Vegas.

EDIT: Sorry, replied to a double post. See the website for clear instructions
