Altering Newer Footage To Appear Classic

DougDVD wrote on 9/27/2002, 2:25 AM
I have many older films that were shot 16mm and I would like to edit in recent digitally shot footage to fill in some missing scenes. The goal is to alter the newer/cleaner footage to appear like the old classic footage for consistency purposes. Probably a basic special effect in Vegas, but I am new to this and could use some advice.
Thanks,
Doug

One video FX is called Film Effects. It has a pre-set "Low Quality Color Film" and "Circa 1980". You can tweak them a lot. Take a look at them and see if they help.

Anyone else feel really old after finding the 1980 preset? I know I did.

Same here. Wonder if VV9 will have a "digital film" effect?

You might also try this baby---deinterlaces with very little resolution loss---then apply some of the Vegas effects. http://www.dvfilm.com/maker/
