Am I out of luck?

My trusty Yamaha 4/2/6 SCSI CDRW finally died earlier this week after many years of service. I ordered a Yamaha CRW2100S (16/10/40) which is supposed to be here today. Does anybody know if this will work in CD Architect? I hate to have to spend a lot of money on getting a new Audio CD burning program. That's why I paid so much for CDA a few years ago. My only other option right now is the pathetic EasyCD Creator!!!

If Sonic Foundry doesn't want to update CDA, why can't they at least release whatever source code or information that would be needed for other developers to maintain compatibility with current hardware? It wouldn't cost them anything to do this. I would gladly pay a fee for this.

CDA is a terrific program and I'm so used to the Sonic Foundry GUI's by now that I hate to switch to anything else. IS ANYBODY FROM SONIC FOUNDRY LISTENING?!?!?!

Oops. Sorry. I realized as soon as I posted that I was in the wrong forum. I'll go over to the CD Architect section and repost...

Any forum is the right forum for this question.

With such an amazing and unique product as CD Architect, what were they POSSIBLY thinking about discontinuing it???
Is anyone else just a LITTLE scared that the same kind of decisionmaking may go on to making Vegas 3 ?
I hope not!
SF what CD app are we to use now? DONT EVEN insult us by suggesting the one in SF 5 please.

My solution for this problem, is go look at the list of CD burners that are supported by CD architect. Pick out the one you like best, then goto Ebay or goto the manufacturers website and see if they are selling reconditioned models. I've had no problem getting my favorite Plextor supported drives, they sell them at the Plextor website.

Good luck,
Brian Franz

So, tell me, I've used Nero, and the Easy CD Creator. What is so special about CDA? Can I still get it?

Thanks for your replies.
