An error occured while creating

I have a project with 5 or 6 QT MOV clips in it, some of which overlap. I have rendered it successfully several times as an uncompressed QT MOV. I added a few more clips at the end and tried to render again, and now get an error message saying An error occured while creating the file; could not create the file. No other info whatsoever.
The drive has >16 GB remaining, there are only three files in the target directory.. no issues I can see.
Vegas 8.0c goes through the entire render process - about 30 minutes - then reports the message only at the very end.
Any thoughts?
Thanks much,Dennis

Since this started happening after adding some more clips, I would suspect a problem with one of the clips.

You could try saving another version and eliminate each clip until the problem goes away. Painful, but it works.

That could be the problem, but the new clips are just a cupla QT Movies made the same way as the others. Plus the fact that it renders completely then stops and throws up the error - presumably when it is ready to write to disk (does it render in memory?) - leads me to believe there is some type of write problem. Having no info about the error from Vegas is not very helpful..
Best.

Render in sections and see where it fails.
