I've try to install vegas 4, 5, 6 in my Dell Dmension 8300 intel P4 3Ghz HT system in XP Pro SP2 512Mb ram.
After the installation i run the program and got this same error in all version of vegas:
"An error occurred starting Vegas"
The system is low on memory. You may be able to reduce memory usage by closing other applications.

But if I install it at the same Dell Dmension 8300 intel P4 3Ghz HT system in windows 2003 server SP1 512Mb ram in other partition the vegas work will.

BTW i've 4 same Dell Dmension 8300 intel P4 3Ghz HT system, all have the same problems. I also try enable & disable HT and it just doesn't work!

Can anyone help me to sovle this problems. Many thanks

Do you have the latest Microsoft .NET version?

Maybe your 2003 server has the latest .net version.

My system have .NET Framework 1.1 & .NET Framework 1.1Hotfix (KB886903).

Still does not work!

.Net appears to be ok.

If you installed media manager with vegas, you might try uninstalling it and seeing if that helps. If Vegas 6 finally runs, you can go into the Preferences and disable it there.

Also, you night try inactivating everything you can think of to keep windows running (disable all antivirus, windows services) and see if it runs.

Any other unique programs you have running on your XP vs your 2003 windows versions?

Wishlist for Sony Engineers: pls create a work-around, other than a security hole such as TS, to fix startup woes. Thanks.
