An error occurred while saving the project file...

Hi all,

Windows 7, SP1
i7 Sony VAIO laptop
Sony Vegas Pro 11 (Build 701) 64-bit
SSD system drive
SSD storage drive (running the files off of for editing)
I'm trying to save my project using "save as..." as I always do and just today I received the error noted in the above Subject line and that "the file could not be created"
I tried saving to desktop, a documents folder on the C drive and even an external HDD but the same error keeps popping.
I had to pull the battery to simulate a crash and I was able to use the auto-save to recover the session and save...once.
After that the same error keeps happening.
So, what are my options?

Should I reinstall Vegas?

ian

Disable your antivirus at startup, run Vegas as a Windows Administrator, and try again.

OK.

AV is disabled.
Vegas Pro 11 is set to run as admin.

Rebooted and it let me save twice then, same message.

THEN I went into my save folder and modified the permissions under security.
It's let me save multiple time with no problems.

No to turn on AV and see if that causes any problems.

I have just experienced this problem recently. Any more news on a resolution to this problem? It looks like the auto updates from the new owner, Magix are not coming through. Anyway, looking forward to hearing from anyone with a fix.
