"An exception has occured"

I spent the day cutting some very simple stuff... talking head with Powerpoint.
I saved several incremental versions as went along. Now every time I try and open one of these .veg files, Vegas gives me the "exception" message, and immediately shuts down. I can see the timeline behind the message, and can see clips there, but nothing I've tried allows me to get back to work on these.

The exception is happening in the "Vegas50.exe" module

Ver 5.0.122

I have QT 6.4 loaded, and other DV files play fine in it.

Obviously, something is causing the .veg files to get corrupted...
Any way around this?

I don't have a lot of time on Vegas, but this is a new problem. Previous projects worked fine.

Thanks in advance...

Charlie

Taking a stab in the dark here. Are you still using Vegas 5.0a and, if so, are you using bitmap images in your project? If the answers are yes, this is a known problem that was solved with the 5.0b upgrade.
BTW, sometimes jpeg images would have this same strange effect.

More info would help. for example... what does power point have to do with vegas? What type of files on the timeline, compression, etc.

Please install the Vegas 5.0b update and let us know if you still have the problem.

It was indeed a problem with bitmaps...
The Powerpoint slides were exported to Vegas as bitmaps, so that's likely the cause.

I installed the 5.0b version and it seems to be fine.

Thanks all!
