An unknown drive error had occurred

When I go to burn a DVD, I get the message below.
I am also running Roxio EZ CD/DVD creator 6 (latest update).
This configuration worked on my old PIII/933, but now that I've bumped up to a hyper-threaded P4/2.8, it's giving me the error.
DVDA recognizes my drive and I've tried 1x & 2x as well as different DVD-Rs

'SFMMCX'-(17)
'atapi'-(1)

1. Are you on 1.0c?

2. Do you have other burning software installed (particularly any form of DLA and/or any from Veritas?=)? If yes, uninstall it and try again.

Found the fix in a message further down the list.
I downloaded and installed the newest ASPI from adaptec (4.7.1.2) and it works find.
