Analog to Digital Convertor

I spoke with sonic customer service and I am told bt them that I need a analog to digital device to use with mY 1394 fire wire card. They also said that I could use a ATI all in wonder card. Anyone have any suggestios? I would prefer to go the way of a cheap convertor as I intend to do away analog eventualy. Thanks!

I bought a Canopus ADVC-100, which has worked beautifully. The only downside was the $300 price tag. I did just get an Email from Canopus anouncing their new ADVC-50, which lists for $199. If it works anything like the ADVC-100, it will be great.

If you're planning on buying a digital camcorder, your cheapest route may still be to buy one of the models that can play analog tapes, and just download from that.
