Analog video capture

I recently bought a Hauppauge PVR-150 MCE for Vista analog video capture/TV tuner card for my Vista Premium PC. However Vegas Studio will NOT allow me to capture from it via the composite video and sound ports.
It sees the card in the video device list, but iti won't let me preview or capture from it.

Anyone got a solution?

This is just a wild guess, but in the Sony Video Capture window, click Options->Preferences... and under the General tab uncheck the top box, "Enable DV device control."

Or use the Hauppauge software to capture a .avi file, then use this .avi file in Vegas.

Unfortunately, the card did not come with capture software. Just the WinTV drivers disk.

Would S-VIDEO work? the card has an S-VIDEO port on it. I know I'll have to route the audio seperately, which I know how to do.

S-Video would give a better picture, but the capturing procedure should be no different save for clicking a box to tell it to use S-Video instead of composite. Audio routing is identical either way.

Check out the download section of Hauppauge's website. Back when i had a WinTV card i had to download the capture application and new drivers because the software that shipped with the card was useless.

I know. They only shipped me a drivers CD and that was it. Dissapointing.
