Anchoring Text Box

Sony Vegas Studio 11.

Hello,

When adding 'Titles & Text' is it possible to anchor the position of the text box so it does not move when text is added? It seems the text inside the box moves around both vertically and horizontally depending on how much text you add.

I just want the top left of the text box to be anchored so I can enter text from the same location. Then I can duplicate this region to ensure text is consistently applied across the timeline.

I have Google'd far and wide and so far have found that there is no solution to this one. Just checking if you know otherwise...

Thanks for your help

Sorry, not possible. Third party titlers such as BluffTitler or NewBlue Titler Pro may have that feature.

As a work around, you could create the first title event and place as desired then copy/paste new copies of it then edit the text in each event. Not elegant but would keep the positioning the same.

I got it to work, though it's a bit fiddly.

Set the justification to left aligned first!

Now in the placement tab choose Top Left. Unfortunately you have to leave it at the default location because copies of this event won't retain the placement location. Ugh!

Enter your first text.

Ctrl-drag this event to create a copy. Edit this event to change the text. Repeat as many times as necessary.

If you do want to move them to some other location on the screen you can edit the X & Y values in the placement tab, or if they're all on the same track use Track Motion to move them all at once.
