Animated Map software-point to point

Can anyone recommend a software plug for VMS or stand-alone software that does map animation very well and relatively easily ?

The kinds of things I'm looking for are :
-rotating earth with point to point animated lines or tracers similar to flight paths
-panning and zooming into islands with "points of interest" fading into and out of view
-line animation of routes taken on highways

I've used primap software's Map Creator (http://www.primap.com/en/) for this sort of thing. It's ok for panning but as far as I can tell it doesn't do any zooming, I've had to do that in Vegas. Heroglyph Rapid has route animation as well, and is free until 1/31 (see http://www.prodad.de/gb/register_heroglyph_starterkit.html). I've only played around with a little bit so far, it doesn't seem to want to pan or zoom along the route so you'll likely have to some of that in Vegas as well. I've seen the software at http://www.routegenerator.net/ mentioned a number of times, but haven't tried it.

Excellent ! I'll look at each of them.

I use Heroglyph for maps and routes.
