Animated matte in nested veg

I am using a complex animated matte I built as a mask for a title sequence. The animated matte is a composition of six tracks. Because (I presume) the mask has to reside in a single parenting track, I created the animated matte in a separate veg and nested it into the title's parent track. This works really well but it is a bit tedious getting the timing of the matte animation right as it requires iterating between the matte veg and the title veg . It would be really cool if you could expand a nested veg in place (i.e., within the title's parent track in my case) so you could more easily keyframe the animation to match the needs of the host title veg.

It is entirely possible there is another way to approach this so I submit this to this esteemed group for discussion. Any ideas?

Jerry,

Your suggestion is much more along the lines of how nested timelines work within Premiere Pro, which I believe is a much easier way to work rather than nested .veggies. As much as I like the nested .veg idea, I occasionally stumble onto issues where they won't play back correctly within another timeine. Being able to collapse certain tracks into a master track IMO would be less taxing on the procs since theoretically, all of the media is still within the same master project.

Not sure the bells and whistles to make this work but it's a great idea.
