Animated text example 2

Have you seen the "Radiant text tip" and the "Animated title example"? Here's another thing Vegas can do with the text generator, pan/crop and light rays:

http://home.hesbynett.no/saltor/_test/abcd.wmv (351 kB)

Track 1 is the brush (came from the Wingdings 2 font). I've used Deform FX (Squeeze left and Squeeze right) together with pan/crop to give it some life.
Track 2 is the light "explosion" - simply a red drop-form with yellow outline and intense light rays behind it. Use anything, a round spot, oval, square or a letter.
Track 3 is the letters a b c cued by keyframes.
Track 4 is the No smoking sign with light rays and pan/crop.
Then there are sound effects, most of which came with Windows 98E, and some dark clouds to make you give your lungs more air and less trouble.

I've seen something like this in a Disney film long time ago. A brush was moving around, dropping islands and stuff on a map. That's where I got the idea from.

Tor,

That is very clever and really cool. Perhaps Kelly Chein will let you upload some of your .veg files to his site so we can download them and plagiarize some of your ideas.

:)

You are quite clever. Thanks for sharing. (Kelly, can you handle these if he can be pursuaded to let you store them?)

Very nice! I must remember to look to WingDings for all those nice graphics.

What the heck ... there's already 704.7MB of files there. What's a few more MB more or less? ;)

I'll probably be swapping the server's 20GB /var drive for an 80GB soon anyway.

Absolutely. I was thrilled when that possibility dawned on me. My other life still suffers.

Imagine if Vegas would let us cut and paste clip art and stuff directly into a media generator. What powers then would it take, to drag us from our screens?

I'm flattered. But really, these are very simple examples, put together in a hurry for the continuation of my own learning curve. Once you've seen them, the implied possibilities should make you want to make your own versions and tweak everything your own way. The basic message I want to bring forth is this:
Vegas' text generator can take any true-type font you care to install on your machine. Add filters and FXs and you can create some very intriguing video.

If anything is unclear about the methods I don't mind trying to explain, but I don't think I'll make the .vegs generally available. Not now, anyway. (But I do have some fishy stuff I want to show you soon.)
