ANNOUNCEMENT - Excalibur 2.0 now available!

It is my pleasure to announce to you that Excalibur 2.0 is now available.
Excalibur is a plugin that works within Vegas that adds greater and faster functionality to many common editing tasks.

Edward and I have made several additions and improvements to the program.

Most notably:

You can now use transitions in addition to cuts and dissolves in Multi-Cam Wizard.

You can now set up markers in an event to specify velocity changes at specific points. Velocity Wizard the makes you a custom velocity envelope and automatically adjusts the length of the event in the timeline.

The new Duration Wizard changes the duration of all selected events. Great for photo montages!

For a complete list of “What’s New in 2”, check HERE

Pricing:

Pricing has not changed for Excalibur. It is $48.50 via direct e-mail, $55.00 for CD which includes .Net Framework and a printed manual.

Current Excalibur owners can upgrade for only $20 via e-mail, or $25.50 on CD, and will receive an e-mail with instructions for ordering the upgrade. Upgrade is free to customers who purchased Excalibur since December 1, 2003.

IMO, thats kind of crappy. No price change for new users but older faithful users get hit with an extra $20? This is the one thing I could never understand about software companies. Why screw past customers who helped you get to this point? Heck, if I was a new customer, Id wait til the second version of every software comes out just so I dont have to pay the ridiculous upgrades later on.

Please note, this isnt a shot at you or your product, just the software upgrade business itself.

Are you sure you read that right??

"Pricing has not changed for Excalibur. It is $48.50 via direct e-mail, $55.00 for CD which includes .Net Framework and a printed manual.

In other words...people who are buying for the first time will pay $48.50.
People who own 1.0 will get the upgrade for $20, and people who bought in the past 5 weeks will get it free.

"Why screw past customers who helped you get to this point?" They're not. They're giving them a $28.50 savings.

What's crappy about that?

Man, you've got to pay for a persons time! I have excalibur and it has payed for itself many times. Just one use of multicam wizard is well worth the price.
Keep up the good work Gary.

I thought the days when anyone could get screwed for $20 were long past...

Personally, I have Excalibur and Tsunami, and hardly ever use either, but for the miniscule cost, they provide excellent erxtensions to the Vegas toolset, and on those occasions when I do use them, they pay for themselves very quickly.

I'll be getting the $20 upgrade.

This is a welcomed upgrade and well worth $20. We use Excalibur frequently and appreciate the insight the creators have in adding useful tools that speed up our workflow.

I have just finished installing the upgrade and had a chance to play around with it. The MARKER VELOCITY feature alone is worth its weight in gold.
I also have both, Tsunami and Excalibur and everytime I use any of these programs I make more money because of the time saved.
Keep it up guys.

Yes, the Marker Velocity is awesome. A reason less to open AE.

Thanks Edward and Gary for you effort.

Cheers. Erni.

I own the original and decided to take a look at what 2.0 has to offer. I downloaded the demo...but when I try to open it up, it says the demo has expired. I would really like to see what the change to the velocity envelope wizard adds before I upgrade...

foleym,

Would you contact me directly? I'm assuming this is on the first run? I would like to send you a test file to run and figure out what's going on here. It will really be Monday morning before I can do a lot of checking.

Just to let everyone know, the free demo version of Excalibur has been adjusted and reposted on the website (see above).

This version is fully functional, and will run 15 times.

Thanks,
Gary

Like some others I have both and have just bought the upgrade.. and I think they are both great value for money. I do not think $20 or around £10 Uk is much for a product that makes it so easy and time saving for you ....
Excellent App....
