Annoyances - Suggestions for things to get rid of.

Everyone has their pet peeves. Well, one of mine is the following:

EVERY time I go to Print Video to DV Tape, it starts thinking, and thinking, and thinking, and thinking, . . . , only to come up with the exact same message EVERY TIME: "Over 80% of the project needs rendering. Do you wish to continue?"

OF COURSE I WISH TO CONTINUE. What I DON'T want is to have to sit there every time for 3 - 5 minutes so that I can TELL the program the obvious. I REALLY, REALLY DO want to render. That is WHY I told it to do that, in the first place, isn't it?

Please, SF. Either turn this blasted message OFF or let US turn it off.

Anyone else want to vent on Monday Morning. Feels good!

I don't know if this is venting, but I *like* that little popup... I don't have a problem letting folks have the option, tho. (Disable at yer own risk.)

Here's something I would like to opt-out of: automatic looping in the trimmer when you hit the out-point... I would prefer the cursor keep moving in case a better outpoint is following. Looping on the mark-out could be an option if the loop button is active.

Logging in the trimmer would benefit greatly from this option, IMHO.

Marty, how about using markers in the trimmer? Plus this way you won't lose any of the out points you liked. You can also do quick comparisons between versions. Wow, tons of benefits here. Hmmm, wonder who turned me on to markers in the first place, Mr. Multicam stud ?

Cheers,

Well, Martyh:

I am open to ideas. Why do you WANT that message to pop up when you have decided already that you DO want to render the whole thing?

When I get that message, I have made a mistake and accidentally slide one of the levels below 100%. I normally NEVER get that message unless I have made a mistake. Fix the mistake, the message goes away!

Hi all,

I do use *regions* in the trimmer, but I get them there using a macro from the timeline. I'm one of those types who prefers to capture in one pass and log the footage in the digital domain. That's why I don't want the trimmer to loop... I would like to mark an IN on the fly and keep hitting the OUT repeatedly until I get the point I want. (after a sentence, or the next, or the next... or after the camera-move has finished, etc.) Sometimes I hit the out a LOT (when working fast). I think I see what yer saying tho, having markers as indicators of optional outpoints is a very interesting idea.

I also want the popup rendering-alert message when I don't want to render the *whole* thing (when I should have some straight DV sections)... the popup tells me to look for a bumped track-opacity fader or such. If I do want to render the whole thing, the message is unneeded; as you say.
