I just watched a BBC program where 3 pro photographers were given 3 different digital cameras. It was presented by Tom Ang. He inturn has this educational BBC website.

Just watched BBC programme where 3 people decorate a house while the unsuspecting owner is away.
Fell asleep.
The above site is amazing though.
And much of the helps and suggestions applicable to video shooting as well.
Love the example photo of the oriental gentleman embraced by the falcon.
