Another Gearshift issue

This is a new twist related to several of my older posts regarding Gearshift and 1394 proxy viewing.

First the old situatation:

When you set up a proxy render with Gearshift, if you are previewing with a 1394 monitor setup, it is important to make sure that your project properties are set up to HDV 1080 60i before you do the proxy render. Otherwise the generated proxies won't preview at full resolution (except for transitions or filtered parts) when you set your preview to a lower working resolution.

Now the new problem:

I just did a batch proxy render last night from two separate subdirectories. I set the project properties to HDV 1080 60i. This morning I checked out the proxies, previewing them on my 1394/canopus/widescreen LCD TV setup. The first directory previewed fine (at full resolution regardless of preview setting). The second one didn't. It somehow rendered slightly differently, and the proxies only preview at the defined resolution. I deleted all the proxies and will render them again. I've only done this once so I won't go proclaiming this a bug yet, but it sure looks like one.

On a postive note, since I upgraded to Vegas 6d, I can now see the VASST script skins (including the Gearshift skin) for the first time. They look nice!

I'm bumping this because it affects me so much.

As things stand I can only render useable proxies for one directory at a time. This means that I have to do silly things like set the alarm clock for 3:30 in the morning so that I can get up and change render directories.

Laurence,
Please use the VASST support forums for this? This isn't an "issue" but rather a request for feature changes, and this forum isn't where these questions belong.
Additonally, you seem to be missing part of the GearShift workflow, based on information you've provided above. Happy to help, but please post in the appropriate forum.

Thanks Spot. I posted there. If my workflow isn't exactly the correct one it should be. It's a good one ;-)

Spot . not trying to be a jerk, but if issues with gearshift should be posted on another forum, so should anything regarding the product.

Actually, the reason issues should be posted to the DMN forum is because it sends an email directly to me (as moderator) and it will get your issue responded to a lot quicker. We have users on the Sony Forum, DMN, DVXUsers, DVInfo, VideoUniversity and other forums. While I try, I cannot possibly visit all these forums every day looking for issues. So to rephrase what Spot was saying, “if you want support, please post to our support forum”. Otherwise your “issue” may go unnoticed and unanswered if we don’t happen to see it. This has nothing to do about anything else regarding the product.

Well now that I've switched to the DMN forum for discussing VASST script issues, I can see the point. People are discussing such issues on a variety of forums and when one looks for posts regarding a certain issue, it makes sense to have one central place for the bulk of these posts to exist.
