Another major programming mistake?

I hate to be a nitpicker...but that's what I am to myself. I just finshed changing end points on each of the sub menu pages cutting off a second. This of course will prevent any faded image from going totally dark... can live with that for now.

The next "problem" seems to be either a bigger programming mistake or maybe just some goofy thing in the specs or something.

I set one musical background for the main page. It works fine. I next picked a different song for all the sub menu pages. That works, but it balloons the disc useage off the chart. Sure enough I delete the background music from a couple subs and the number drops.

Don't tell me its making 8 copies of the same song! I hope this is just a goof in the meter in the application and not the actual setup for burning the DVD.

Anyone know?

check the archives here; excessive reported memory use with audio menus is already a known bug. As a separate issue, I'm not sure if the DVD spec even allows you to reuse one physical copy of the music on different logical menus. I'm no expert though.

You have a thread reference? I tried search and nothing comes up on this issue.

Each menu needs its own copy of the audio.

Also, there is a known issues with the estimated size of a menu when the audio isn't being recompressed (as mentioned). This isssue is addressed in the update.
