On another note- I just picked up a Mac and will be installing FCP5 soon. I have no experience with Macs but will give an honest comparison of FCP vs Vegas if anyone is interested. I've been a Vegas editor for 3 years now, was a Premiere 6.0 editor before that. I'm curious as to how it'll stack up.
A friend of mine gave it to me. Completly legit- original discs with serial #.
I originally got the Mac Mini to be an internet machine- to take my PC (work machine) off the net and clean. I'm really liking the Mac OS X (Tiger). Very logically laid out and clean- reminds me of Vegas in many ways regarding it's simplicity. Want to uninstall a program- click and drag it to the trash. That simple. No registry to crud up.
I don't think I'll be making a switch from Vegas to FCP. But since I was able to get the software without any monentary investment- It's worth taking a look at...even if it's to prove to myself I'm not "missing" anyhting.
Very very impressive, very moving, reminds us of our wedding day a long time ago.
Can you give us some info on how you make those very smooth slow motions?
Eric
Your camera moves are, once again, amazing. I too would be interested in how you are doing slow-mo. It certainly isn't done from 29.97 NTSC video in Vegas, I would bet.
Outstanding videography...love the crane shots! And you certainly can't go wrong when using a Grammy Award Winning soundtrack. In fact, it almost felt like some of your shots were eerliy similar to James Cameron's against the same track (just goes to show how powerful a soundtrack can be).
Actually, IMHO My Heart Will Go On is a rather bitterwsweet selection for a wedding video (I assume the clients selected the track). But nonetheless, your videography is impressive (and when I turned the audio down, the imagery was still very nice). Great job!
