another Newbie question - Divx and Lame Mp3 Avis not recognized

Hey ho

I did a search and could not find out if there was a solution...i'm trying to do some creative artsy project with video and vegas but when i try to load my footage ...

120 MB, 1063 Kbps, 25.0 fps, 572*380 (4:3), DX50 = DivXNetworks Divx v5
18.14 MB, 159 Kbps, 44100 Hz, 2 channels, 0x55 = Lame MP3

Vegas does not load the folies nor does it even acknowldege their codecs..however the vids show fine in windows media player.

any solutions or workarounds?

Ok. heres a woekaround for you.

Open the file in virtualdub. Under video, set to direct stream copy and under audio select no audio. Then save avi and youll have the video portion. Go back and select source audio and under file>save wav and then you have your aduio file. Then bring both files into Vegas and both should work.

damn sony and it's propietary aapproach to things :(
