(another) Rendering bug in 8.0c

Rendering bug in 8.0c

I guess it's a bug, unless it was done on purpose.

I load HDV .m2t file on timeline.
Select render as.
Choose Sony AVC codec and template: AVCHD 1440x1080 NTS 5.1 Surround
Change bitrate from 15,000,000 to 16,000,000
Click Save.

Vegas starts rendering for a second then stops and message box comes up:

An error occurred while create the media file xxx.m2ts

When I don't change anything in template (keep 15,000,000 bitrate) it works.

Can anyone else test this?

Thanks.

That's like that by design, Vegas can't render in the Sony AVC codec to anything higher than 15 Mbps in 1440 and 16 Mbps in 1920. It shouldn't be that way, but it is.

If you want to render to a higher bitrate for a BD5, you might want to render to a lossless codec like Huffyuv and then import the file in DVDA 5, which can actually encode AVC to higher bitrates, such as 1920x1080i at 20 Mbps.

Well, it's a shame because I can render my HDV .m2t file in Corel DVD MovieFactory 7 Pro with up to 18 Mbps. And quality is pretty good.
