It would be great if someone of the right mind and disposition would collect and present links to free fonts particularly suited to video. Many videomakers are constantly on the lookout for new fonts.

There is also the much overlooked fact that figure fonts (dingbats and whatnot) are excellent for use in the Vegas text generator. Take a look at the font Webdings (used to come free with several Windows versions, and is still available on the net - at least semi-legally). Such fonts may save you hours of Photoshop/Paintshop work.

Anyway, thanks for the link.

While these fonts aren't free, they are excellent. Check out the fonts and what is created with them HERE These are great for movie titles.

Here are some free dingbat fonts for use as borders etc.

Go to FontFreak and check out the Dingbat collection. Specifically look at...

Border Corners 1
Border Corners 2
Chay's Frames
Celtic Frames
DecoBorders
Edgers
Fleurons
Florals 2
Ornamenter 4 (actually all the Ornamenter series)
Seperates

Thanks Mark

I don't know how you found dafont.com but it has some excellent fonts. Some weird, some wonderful but all useful (well nearly all)

I didn't realize how much I needed some of these.

What a homerun! Great resource!

I love fonts. The thing I hate about them, is the more you install (Windows environment), the more your PC will slow down. That's because, Windows loads them all into memory at the same time - even if you don't use them. It would be better if the fonts loaded memory as you needed them. Guess that is why most people don't change fonts - too hard.

or that is why they use a font manager. View unloaded fonts and only load the ones you use

I love fonts too. Might want to check out a site called....

www.fontgarden.com

Check out the archives there...cool stuff.

Buster? Do you have any recommendations for a free font manager I could use ?

I believe it was Grazie that mentioned "Free and Easy Font Viewer" some time ago.
Works well for me.

I know that used to be true, but I was pretty sure that I read that Windows XP handles fonts differently. Of course I can't recall the reference.

It was enough though for me to return Suitcase.

I am not sure how many fonts most people have, but I have 1,006 and everything runs just fine for me.
