When I first started using Vegas, I discovered a command in the icon bar where you could select and cut a clip, move the cursor to a new place, then paste the clip in and subsequent clips would shuffle along. It's not post ripple, but has another name. I've tried to find it but can't remember what to look for. Can anyone help me please?

If you do a "cut" on an event with Auto Ripple turned on, the timeline will shift left and close the gap. If you then do a "paste" in another position on the timeline to reinsert the "cut" event, if AutoRipple is still on it will reinsert the event and more the timeline right the exact amount of the inserted clip. Learning how to use Auto Ripple is important. Worth some practice editing.

Read the help under "Cut" -- and "Auto Ripple" .. Remember there are various forms of AutoRipple, effecting various tracks.
