Antialiasing

I am working on a project that has mostly still photos. After burning to disc and viewing in DVD I noticed that a lot of the images appear to have movement or vibration. The word antialiasing crosses my memory but exactly what is it and what options do I have to correct the images?

Thanks for any help, or where to look to learn more about this.

This topic comes up almost daily on this forum. It once again should suggest to Sony that we need a FAQ for each forum -- slow motion, still pictures, play clip backwards, etc.

Click here for more answers: Still Photos

Use best quality during render to DV AVI, and click on "Force Resample" for each photo (you can cut and paste event attributes, so you can only have to do this once, and then you can copy to other photos).

If the image has far more resolution or "sharpness" than what video can deliver, you'll get aliasing, which shows up as very busy-looking edges. The only way to eliminate aliasing is to blur your photos very slightly before using them for video. Try different amounts and see what the magic combination is for your situation.

I have found the "Gaussian Blur" filter is much too strong, but the "Quick Blur" is about right.
