Presonus tech support is awesome. It works great now. Talk to Justin. The manuals are horible though. You only get 2 in 2 out with out ASIO driver support (insteat of 8) which VV3 does not have, but V4 will so if you can wait....
The directions are written poorly in the supplied manual. The manual itself looks like it was made on a cheap copier and then thrown into the box. Now that I have it working on my system, when I go back over the manual it makes sense, but it definately was not a read through once and install kind of situation. On Presonus's site, there are some guides for "suggested" buffer settings. These should be more like "required" buffer settings. You have to install Yamaha's mLan system before you can do anything with the firestation. It is in the manual, but it is not clear. It only has one headphone out, which sucks, but I guess a splitter is only a couple bucks.
All this being said. Tech support was awesome, they will take the time to walk you through the process. and after it was up and running. I had no problems. I have heard nightmare stories on this forum about MOTU firewire interfaces. No problems here. I would recomend the purchase, I just would not plan on being up and running within 30 minutes of opening the box.
