I am looking for some ideas on building a desk to hold two
17inch moniters and a mixer as well as hold a pair of
ns10nms.Any ideas or help very much appreciated.:-)
Thanx guys.
Hi David
We bought 3ea. OMNIRAX systems. One light grey system holds a MACKIE
24-8buss w/24E expander.Black padded arm rest,on each side we have
6.5 and 24 rack spaces and a sliding computer shelf under the main
desk, We have 3ea. 21" Sony monitors.(we had to have someone come in
because of sagging of the monitor shelf) The other two systems are
the same but black and only holds a MACKIE 32-8buss and D8b, The D8b
system is really cool the made the padded arm rest to fit the front
of the D8b I like them a lot, hope this helps

I sent an e-mail with a pic of my setup, which is my take on EXACTLY
what you describe....
if you want more detailed plans of this or anytthing else using my
EGT extreme ghetto technology, let me know
for a great low cost/ high humor/ high functionality example, check
out my diffusors made out of Airborne Express triangle blueprint

Lol, Aaron you're too much. If you're the Tim Allen type like I had
to be because you're long on ideas and short on cash you can build
your own desk quite easily. First start by measuring how much area
in your room you have available for your desk and make it to fit and
then custom design it to meet all your needs (like being able to hold
dual monitor with a mixing board inbetween. If you have a home depot
near you, then you have all the essential materials. Make your
design and build it out of 3/4" partical board and then cover it all
with Furmica (black is my favorite). I built a desk and a matching
table for clients and the total cost was $400.00 and it fit all my
needs because I designed it. Comparable desks would have cost me
$1800. You'll need tools like a circular saw, a router(to trim the
furmica) a roller(to smooth on the furmica) and an electric screw
driver to hold it all together. When you're all done you can
purchase rack rails for all your equipment. For my monitors, which
I'm using Alesis Monitor ones, the same size as your NS-10's, I built
a couple speaker towers on top of the desk at ear level, which was
wide enough to house CD cases with a shelf on top where the speakers
rest. If you don't have all that ambition, and have the cash, then
hire a builder to do it all for you and give him the dimensions and
they will usually be able to put it together for you in a few days.
Most builders that build houses also build custom furniture on the
side. Otherwise you can look into a company like Omnirax and order
something that is usually too expensive and doesn't meet your exact
needs.
