Any recommendations for external Blu-Ray writer?

I have a laptop with 1 e-sata, 2 USB 3.0 slots and 1 USB 2.0 slot. The Samsung SE-506BB has some good reviews but most folks are using it for data backup, not videos.

Also, is there such a thing as a Blu-Ray writer that will also play Blu-Ray discs via HDMI to high def television? Some writers say they will not play commercial Blu-Ray discs, but I don't care so much about that.

I bought an Archgon at New Egg and it seems okay. Other users have had good luck with models from LG and Panasonic, but Archgon was the best deal for me at the time I bought it.
